Purpose
Lovely faces provides and API layered on top of Microsoft's Cognitive Service API which allows programmers to query location based information of users in their homes. We provide an example in the form of a smart speaker. It continuously polls our API for information on the "Master Bedroom" and in the event that a person walks in to the room, it greets them with a personal message with reference to their name.
Implementation
Using Microsoft's Face API we build facial profiles of each of the people living in the house and have cameras trained on the entrance and exit o each room to detect when people enter and leave it, the cameras then make requests to our Web-app hosted on Azure where we manage the current state of the house. We then expose this information to programmers who access it via a the endpoints of the Web-app. Current endpoints allow for the viewing of all rooms in a house, who is in a particular room and which room a particular person is in.
