Inspiration

I want to ship culture. Web3 consumer social is ripe for innovation and currently the projects building in this space are next to none.

What it does

Lovefest is the first crypto dating app on NEAR. Vote for (or against) your friends' relationships. Buy a Lovefest NFT to play the game (aka vote). All proceeds from NFT sales will go towards the top-voted couples and will fund their future dates, like weekend hotel getaway or a helicopter ride around the city. Couples will be incentivized to create UGC, which will promote their relationship, encourage their fans to ship and support them, and will generate organic marketing for Lovefest.

How we built it

The backend code is present in the /assembly folder. The NEAR smart contract is written in AssemblyScript. The frontend code is present in the /src folder. It uses near-api-js.

Challenges we ran into

This was my first project built on NEAR protocol, so it was a learning curve from end to end.

Coming up with an idea for an awesome project that I would like to bring to life in full for the crypto community.

What we learned

Being able to deploy a successful and functioning smart contract on NEAR.
