Inspiration

My partner and I lived 8 hours apart across the Atlantic—missed good mornings, confused call times, and the quiet loneliness of disjointed days sparked this idea. I wanted to turn the frustration of time difference into something romantic, a tool that didn’t just calculate time but nurtured connection.

What it does

Love World Time Converter syncs real-time local times for two people, shows rest status to avoid missed moments, lets you schedule "heart deliveries" (sweet notes sent at their perfect time), plan cross-time zone dates, and even create a shared "virtual time zone" to feel closer. Every design choice—soft gradients, glassmorphic cards, gentle animations—feels warm, not technical.

How we built it

We used the MEDO low-code platform to skip complex authentication flows (no sign-ins!) and focus on the emotional UI. We integrated a global time zone API with ZonedDateTime logic for DST accuracy, built custom glassmorphic components with CSS3, and hooked up push APIs for scheduled notifications. All data is encrypted with AES-256 to keep intimate moments private.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest hurdle was real-time sync of rest schedules across devices—we fought latency issues for weeks, testing 10+ sync methods to get updates to reflect in under 5 seconds. We also struggled with lunar calendar to Gregorian conversions for cultural dates, and making glassmorphism work seamlessly across mobile screens.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We created a tool that’s technically precise (1-minute DST adjustment!) but feels deeply human—users tell us the "heart delivery" particle animation makes sending notes feel like a hug. We also nailed the no-auth flow, keeping the experience frictionless while maintaining data security.

What we learned

Low-code platforms like MEDO don’t limit creativity—they free you to focus on user emotion. We also learned that time zone logic is far more nuanced than we thought (DST transitions vary wildly by region!) and that small animations make big emotional impacts for long-distance users.

What's next for this project

We want to add weather sync (so you can say "bundle up, it’s cold where you are"), AI-generated personalized love notes tied to time differences, and a "memory timeline" to track shared moments across time zones. We’re also testing multi-language support to reach more couples worldwide.
