Love (Lettuce) Letter Generator

Inspiration

We were inspired by the lettuce-eating competition that is being held today at the Wabi-Sabi thon, so we decided to create a love letter generator themed around lettuce.

What it does

Using horrible UI, users are guided through a sign-up page and then can proceed to the Love Letter generating page. On the love lettuce letter generator, you can click on “generate” to have the site form the rizziest lettuce love letters. With the green lettuce letter in the middle of the screen, you can actually save each of your generated messages for safekeeping.

How we built it

We built our prototype using Figma (with the help of gifs & special mention to Figma pencil) Design thinking choices:

• blurred background screen that is slightly angled, doesn't fill up the entire screen.
• drawing most clickable elements: minimal use of text boxes
• hand drawn elements
• memes and gifs
• broken green letter hovering animation on landing page

Challenges we ran into

Failed animations, avoiding the perfection of the UI, wrong frame sizing

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Creating a horrible design in such a short amount of time, animating :D

We learned exactly what not to do when designing UI!!

What's next for Love (Lettuce) Letter Generator

In the future we plan on implementing a customization feature where users can actually customize the pre-generated options to make it feel more personalized.
