Love Grit Hope

“Love Grit Hope” turns poetry into play — an immersive emotional journey where every choice mirrors your heart and reveals the balance between Love, Grit, and Hope.

Inspiration

“Love Grit Hope” was inspired by the merging of two earlier projects: my poetry book of the same name and an interactive app I created for an art exhibition in Venice, Italy in 2022. I wanted to combine the emotional truth of poetry with the immersive potential of interactive art — to create a space that feels both reflective and transformative. There’s no “right” way to play; each player’s path unfolds uniquely through feeling and choice.

What It Does

Players explore the three forces of Love, Grit, and Hope through a world built from poetry, sculpture, and sound. Each choice opens new poetic landscapes and experiences — creating a personal reflection of emotion in motion.

How It Was Built

The world’s art and poetry were created entirely by hand using a multitude of tools, including a Quest headset for sculpting 3D forms in VR and Procreate on a tablet for painting hand-made textures. These elements were imported as custom models into Meta’s Worlds Desktop Editor, where interactions and triggers were brought to life with the **AI Creator Assistant.

Challenges & Future Vision

The challenge was translating emotion into interactivity while maintaining simplicity and depth.

What's next for Love Grit Hope

In the future, I plan to integrate a custom small language model trained solely on my poetry, allowing the world to generate personalized, evolving dialogue — making each playthrough a living poem.
