Inspiration
We were inspired by our own struggles managing money. With the many ways to spend our money, we realized that young people just like us need guidance to make sure their money goes to the right places.
What it does
Lotus is an alternative for users who aren't able to meet the minimum balance to open up a bank account. Our app streamlines financial services, while teaching financial literacy. Our cute and user friendly design makes banking fun.
How we built it
For the front end we used react and Next.js. For the backend we used AWS Amplify.
Challenges we ran into
Our biggest challenges was in the database in backend.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're really proud of how our front end looks as our main goal was a clean and easy-to-use user interface and experience.
What we learned
We learned a lot about databases.
What's next for Lotus
We with to integrate machine learning to advise users on how they should manage their money based on previous months of spending. We also want to add more financial services, like loans, peer-to-peer lending, insurance, and expand our crypto offerings.
