-Inspiration Lotus Mind was inspired by the ancient Tibetan practices of mindfulness and breathwork, combined with modern XR technology's ability to create deeply immersive experiences. We aimed to bridge the gap between traditional wisdom and accessible, tech-driven meditation tools to help users explore mindfulness in a transformative and culturally authentic way.
-What it does Lotus Mind offers an immersive XR experience for practicing Himalayan Singing Bowl meditation and Tummo Breathing. Users engage in guided sessions that integrate interactive visuals, real-time feedback, and personalized environments to deepen mindfulness, enhance skills, and connect with ancient Tibetan wisdom.
-How we built it We developed Lotus Mind using Unity and Meta Quest 3's advanced capabilities for body and controller tracking, as well as immersive UI interaction. The breathwork practices are synchronized with real-time user movement inputs, offering a seamless and responsive experience. Customizable ambient environments and sound options allow free transitions between VR and MR modes. The experience integrates multiple culturally authentic meditation styles and art forms, faithfully recreated in the XR virtual space. Additionally, our backend system enables user profile tracking to monitor progress and personalize the journey.
-Challenges we ran into Ensuring cultural authenticity while blending modern technology. Developing more measurable and user input responsive real-time interaction and synchronization for user behaviors. Creating an engaging, accessible experience for both beginners and advanced mindfulness practitioners.
