Inspiration – Chinatown communities often struggle with language barriers and accessing financial aid. We wanted to create a platform that empowers them by simplifying communication, applications, and support services.

What it does – Lotus enables users to upload images, videos, and documents to overcome language barriers. It recommends grants, automates applications, and streamlines access to government financial assistance, saving time and effort.

How we built it – We used AI-powered OCR for document translation, automation tools for grant applications, and a backend integrated with government databases. The frontend prioritizes accessibility for easy user interaction.

Challenges we ran into – Ensuring accurate translations for multiple dialects. Automating grant applications while meeting diverse requirements. Designing an intuitive experience for non-tech-savvy users. Pushing through and delivering with time constraints.

Accomplishments that we're proud of – Implementing seamless document and media uploads. Building an automation system that simplifies grant applications. Creating a real-world impact for the Chinatown community.

What we learned Accessibility and cultural sensitivity are crucial for impact. AI-driven automation can significantly streamline bureaucracy. Collaboration with local organizations enhances reach and effectiveness.

What's next for Lotus Expanding AI-driven translation for more dialects. Partnering with local organizations for increased adoption. Developing mobile support for wider accessibility. Scaling to other communities facing similar challenges.
