Inspiration

We were inspired to help low-income families achieve financial stability by leveraging AI technology to provide personalized guidance, budgeting tools, and educational resources.

What it does

Our web app uses AI to analyze users' income and expenses, suggest optimized budgets, provide financial advice via an AI chatbot, help set and track goals, and send bill reminders.

How we built it

We built the app using Next.js for the frontend, Supabase for the backend and database, integrated the OpenAI API for AI-powered features, and hosted it on Vercel.

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges included effectively integrating the AI components, ensuring data privacy and security, and designing an intuitive user interface suitable for low-income users who may have limited financial literacy.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we were able to add a transaction history feature so far.

What we learned

Through this project, we gained experience in rapidly prototyping an AI-powered application, integrating various technologies and APIs, and designing for a specific user demographic with unique needs.

What's next for Lotus

we plan to enhance Lotus with additional features such as bank integration, investment insights, multilingual support, and a mobile app version to make it even more accessible.
