🧠 Inspiration Many creators use tools like Bolt to rapidly launch websites — but they often don’t know how good their site really is, how to improve it, or how to showcase their work. We wanted to build an AI-powered assistant that acts as:

a mentor, giving personalized feedback,

a strategist, generating monetization and business advice, and

a showcase generator, turning your work into a portfolio in seconds.

💡 What it does SiteSense AI lets users paste one or more Bolt website URLs, and then:

✅ Analyzes each site using GPT-4 ✅ Provides feedback on design, wording, structure, and fit for niche ✅ Generates a SWOT analysis, monetization ideas, and suggested features ✅ Builds a roadmap with prioritized to-do tasks ✅ Summarizes each site and turns them into a portfolio page with tech stack, blurbs, and challenges ✅ Exports the final portfolio as static HTML/CSS or publishes it to GitHub Pages

🛠️ How we built it Frontend: React + TailwindCSS (clean dashboard for pasting links and viewing analysis)

Backend: Node.js + Express + Puppeteer (for scraping and screenshotting)

AI: OpenAI GPT-4-turbo API for summarization, analysis, and generation

Storage: Supabase for saving user inputs and portfolio data

Export: Uses static site generator (like Eleventy or custom HTML template) for portfolio page

Optional: GitHub API to auto-push generated site to GitHub Pages

⚔️ Challenges we ran into Handling websites with complex JS or lazy-loading (had to use Puppeteer waits and fallbacks)

Prompt tuning: GPT sometimes gave too generic advice — we refined prompts with real examples

Converting AI-generated blurbs into visually appealing portfolio layouts dynamically

Managing multiple site inputs efficiently while keeping UI simple

📚 What we learned GPT is very powerful for personalized analysis when paired with good structure

Prompt chaining is essential for multi-step tasks (e.g., analyze → summarize → suggest)

Developers love tools that help them both grow and show off their work

Let users edit AI-written content directly in the UI

Support other platforms (e.g., Framer, Webflow, WordPress)

Build a leaderboard of top-rated Bolt sites
