I went to GDSCHacks this May. It was a great hackathon overall, except for one thing: they had a no-sleeping policy, for some reason. It was really strange. None of the organizers were involved, but there were some very insufferable UofG faculty that went around waking people up. Yeah, pretty strange, I know.

Anyway, after being woken up a few times, my friends and I got fed up. We were like “man we tired of this, yo!”. So we decided that the next time one of them came by to wake us up again, we’d try to talk them out of it. We’d be super serious and diplomatic. Straight Ben Shapiro on these people to stop them from waking us up.

We spent a few minutes deciding what to say. It had to be calm and collected, beautifully articulated, and we had to sound at least a little bit awake.

After a few minutes, another faculty came by, to check if anyone was asleep. We cleared our throats and got ready to deliver the most diplomatic, down to earth, wholesome answer possible.

The guy says, “anyone sleeping in here?”

My friend, after sleeping -5 hours, forgets the whole script and says “we’re not sleeping, we’re just mewing intently.”

“That’s not a sleeping bag you’re seeing, it’s a mewing pod.”
