Inspiration

In my neighborhood of Sherwood Park, I noticed an influx of lost pet signs. Over months, the elements ripped apart these signs until they littered the streets or were just plain unreadable. It was for these reasons that I created a website only for the missing animals in my area that was easy to understand and made it quicker to track down your missing pet.

What it does

The website allows you to report details about your missing pet, to be uploaded to the webpage if found to be legitimate. You may also report a missing pet you have found if you do not wish to contact the owner directly. Also, the website allows you to peruse the details of pets which are currently missing.

How we built it

The webpage was built entirely using HTML and a bit of CSS coding. It was created in a VS code IDE.

Challenges we ran into

As this was my first time creating a website, I struggled with formatting the graphics to match a typical blog-style format.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I was proud of the overall performance of the webpage and the final product I created.

What we learned

I learned to begin my project much earlier in order to not rush. I also learned to develop a more detailed plan in order to save time later on.

What's next for Lost Pets of Sherwood Park!

I hope to purchase a domain name in order to make my website public.
