Inspiration

our project is a campus-based Lost & Found platform for NIT Nagaland students, faculty, and staff.

💡 Main idea

Instead of posting in WhatsApp groups or asking around the campus, users can report:

🔴 Lost items 🟢 Found items

The system stores the reports and uses Gemini AI to identify potentially matching lost and found reports.

🤖 Where Gemini AI comes in

For example:

Student A:

Lost black HP laptop near Library. Small NIT sticker on the back.

Student B:

Found black HP laptop near Library. Has a sticker on the back.

Your application sends the descriptions to Gemini.

Gemini responds:

Possible Match Found Both reports describe a black HP laptop near the Library with a sticker.

The system doesn't automatically declare ownership; it only suggests a possible match. The users/admin can verify it.
