Inspiration

In this day and age, we are adding millions of decentralized green energy assets (solar, batteries, EVs) to a 20th-century centralized grid not built to handle them. This causes massive instability and billions in waste. Current solutions (Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems) are failing because they are centralized. The idea for EnergyHub is inspired by the need for a decentralized, autonomous solution where energy assets coordinate amongst themselves and decide how to optimize energy-saving and usage.

What it does

Using three AI models, designated for different tasks , we built a software which based on data of energy costs and consumption, predicts energy pricing and determines at the current time period, what the best usage of energy or action will be. It will also display a dashboard detailing changes in consumption and costs and predict the next one in the hour.

How we built it

Primarily using python, we utilized various libraries for AI modelling, web development and data analysis in order to effectively work with the data and create accurate models.

Challenges we ran into

AI training often took a while with the large amount of data that we used, and finding the most relevant datasets to our project was challenging from various sources.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Developing the AI models and being able to integrate it fully into the webpage.

What we learned

We learnt how to work with various python libaries and multiple models.

What's next for LOS5 - metanoia - EnergyHub

implementing a system where it can automate selling supply and further optimizing and training the models.
