Inspiration
We were initially inspired by accessibility issues to internet and therefore access to large language models. Accessibility of communication is extremely important for elderly care, therefore we focused on dementia management use case.
What it does
Enhances daily life and memories for those with dementia through nurturing calls. Main feature is phone calling for checkup, which are accessible and low cost. During call provide assistance with dementia by having reminders and schedules, information and assistance, companionship, cognitive exercises. After conversation is ended it can send report to close ones on any unusual conversations and something else with privacy in mind
How we built it
We used:
- Vonage - phone service, virtual number provider
- OpenAI Whisper - Speech to text conversion
- OpenAI GPT 3.5 - Conversation API,
- OpenAI TTS - Text to speech conversion
- Private cloud, Node.js, Nginx, Python, Figma

Lots and lots about dementia, alzheimer and about integrating cellular devices with backend AI systems.
What's next for Dialup
Refine prototype for MVP. First customer onboarding and trial period.
