Inspiration
Ever spent more time organizing your to-do list than actually doing the tasks? Yeah, us too. Excelarate was born from the chaos of sticky notes, tabs, and lost Google Docs. We wanted one place to keep things simple, smart, and actually usable.
What it does
Excelarate is your productivity co-pilot— to-do tools, and a clean UI to help you organize, plan, and execute without the overwhelm.
How we built it
We used HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with a splash of wit. Netlify for deployment (because GitHub Pages was being moody), and lots of trial, error, and late-night debugging.
Challenges we ran into
- CSS layouts that just wouldn’t center (why tho?)
- Overengineering simple things—because apparently “keep it simple” is harder than it sounds
- Making it responsive without breaking the whole site
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Actually finishing it (let’s be real, that’s half the battle)
- A clean, functional interface
- Feedback from friends: “Wait… this is actually helpful.”
What we learned
- Good UX matters way more than flashy features
- The best tool is the one people actually use
- Flexbox is a gift. Use it. Respect it.
What's next for Excelarate
We're planning to add:
- Maybe, A tech start up, Just Maybe
- User accounts for multi device functionality...
- Templates (because we all organize differently)
And maybe... just maybe... a mobile app?
