Problem Statement
In academic and creative environments, students often struggle to get high-quality, actionable feedback on their digital projects (UI/UX, Frontend). Traditional feedback methods via text messages or emails lack context, and peers often lack the incentive to spend time providing thorough evaluations. We are building a collaborative Peer-Review Network to bridge this gap, ensuring that students can easily exchange contextual, visual, and constructive feedback.
LoopBACK. is the Solution
LoopBACK. uses a dual-concept system based on Visual Crowdsourcing and a Credit Economy.
The Economy
Users have a balance of credits. To publish a project for review, they must spend a set amount of credits depending on the complexity of the project/review they are looking for. To earn credits back, they must find and review other students' projects.
Annotation System
When evaluating a project, users don't just write a generic comment. They can pin specific feedback markers directly onto the project's layout/screenshot, making the critique entirely visual and context-aware.
Features
- Real-time Feed & Smart Search: Dynamic list of active projects with categorization (UX/UI, Frontend, Backend, etc.) and complexity filtering, fully synced in real-time with Firestore.
- Visual Canvas Annotation: Click-to-pin canvas implementation that allows precise, numbered, and contextual critique overlays directly on project images.
- Credit Loop Economy: A secure transactional wallet logic that auto-subtracts credits upon publishing and auto-rewards upon uality review completion.
- Anti-Spam Validation: Smart input metrics enforcing character limits (minimum 30 characters combined) to block fast-click rewards and protect feedback quality.
- Mutual Peer Connections (Networking): Real-time social layer where users can follow others, changing statuses from "Members" to "Peers" once a follow-back occurs.
- File & Image Uploads: Live cloud storage management utilizing Firebase Storage buckets for cover and high-fidelity project files.
Target Users
LoopBACK. is strictly designed as a safe, beginner-friendly community for students. It targets early-stage developers, designers, and creators who need constructive feedback but often feel intimidated by mainstream, highly competitive tech platforms. By connecting peers who are in the exact same learning stage, the ecosystem fosters empathy, reduces the fear of judgment, and encourages horizontal collaboration among peers navigating the same educational hurdles.
Future Improvements
- Institutional Email Verification: Implement a strict signup validation requiring university or school email domains to ensure the platform remains a private, authenticated, and secure academic environment.
- Specialized User Roles (Teachers & Industry Professionals): Introduce verified non-student profiles for educators and handpicked tech professionals.
- Asymmetric Token Economy for Mentors: These mentor profiles will operate outside the standard credit loop, as they will not have wallets or the ability to publish projects. Instead, they can provide high-value, authoritative feedback freely, acting as trusted guides within the beginner community.
- Automated Feedback Categorization: Integrate lightweight AI models to automatically tag incoming reviews based on code quality, usability, or visual design, making it easier for students to track milestones.
Test LoopBACK.
To test LoopBACK. you can either login into an existing mock account or create one yourself and explore the platform. Existing accounts: sophia.vance@faul.pt, liam.connor@faul.pt, tomas.silva@faul.pt, diana.rocha@faul.pt [password: 123456] Note: The images in the annotate section are purely for showcasing. In a real experince, users are expected to upload screenshots of their projects.
