MoveThis

Inspiration

Jatin being an international student without a car or family to help him move experienced first hand the issues with moving frequently. Karl-William had moved multiple times and felt the same pain as Jatin and they both agreed to solve it.

What it does

MoveThis is a peer-to-peer moving and delivery app, like DoorDash but for moving furniture instead of food.

How we built it

We built it using React Native & EXPO front end. Supabase since we wanted serverless development. Cursor + Claude

Challenges we ran into

We ran into Apple Merchant ID problems. They would not allow us to implement Apple Pay (even as a sandbox) without having an Apple Developer account which takes several business days to get approved.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud to have set up real time communication between the people in need & the movers wanting to make some extra money on the side.

What we learned

We learned that we are capable of shipping a product in 36 hours.

What's next for MoveThis

We're going to ship MoveThis at the University of Florida and start talking to customers to get further feedback. We will start gathering a list of Movers along with student emails.
