Inspiration

We are inspiered by the traditional skills and handiwork across the globe in developing countries and have noticed the loss of such important pieces of history and heritage.

What it does

Looms is an e-commerce site that empowers local traditional craftsmanship from developing countries by providing an international platform.

How we built it

We built it using JavaScript, CSS, and HTML. In the design phase, we used Figma to create mockups of the various views.

Challenges we ran into

Discovering nearly lost tradiational handicraft business, understanding the logistics of international shipping and utilizing smart algorithms to maximize the potential of the platform.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of succesfully creating a baseline idea of our product and learning from the challenges we have faced so far.

What we learned

The traditional handicraft work in developing countries is extremely undervalued, exploited and ignored by the masses.

What's next for Looms

We strive to move forward by learning more from our challenges and bring this platform to uplift the hardworking local craftmens in developing countries by keeping their business alive and bring awarness to this issue.
