Inspiration
Ever get an alert to be on the lookout for a vehicle with a certain license plate. Amber alerts and vehicle theft alerts are some to note. Lookout provides you with a set of eyes that scans all the LP's on the road, scanning for any LP that may have an open case. Lookout allows you to passively monitor the streets with little efforts.
What it does
Use your phone to monitor the road by scanning license plates. If any license plate matches a case, the alert will be sent notifying the police to BOLO. The web app showcases all the alerts with the last seen location and a description.
How we built it
OpenCV for license plate recognition, Node to receive the LP and send and check Mongo if the plate matches a case. Once an alert is detected, the alert will be sent to the web app which notifies the police and displays relevant information about the case.
