Tracks:

Connectivity, Google Cloud

Inspiration:

Have you ever wanted to play Among Us but didn't have that group of 10 - maybe you had 6 or 8 but we all know it's not fun unless you have 10. We built Looking For Group so that you could find a group to play with!

What it does:

Create a Group or Find Groups. For now, our service provides no communication, you'll have to provide a third-party communication service like Discord or Skype(do people still use Skype?).

Our Next Chapter

Voice Chat - allows users to find a random group of people to voice chat while playing the game (like discord but more temporary, kind of like Omegle)

Beyond Video Games - this service works for a lot of different categories. You could create a knitting club or get a group of people to play pickup basketball at the local park(when it is safe to do so)

Security - We would love to strengthen security for Firebase and create more efficient methods of executing certain tasks.

UI/UX, an aside from Andrei: There's a lot to be done with UI/UX. Although the app is pretty straightforward, there are some actions that should have been included like a drop down tab for accounts or a better way to confirm an action has been successfully completed.

STACKS on STACKS:

React.js Frontend Firebase/Firestore Backend

Challenges? Challenger?

Hosting a React App with Routes on a server is tough (almost as tough as our solo queue games). There were a lot of issues that even stackoverflow could not fix. Lastly, while trying to deploy the website onto Firebase hosting, we came across a few issues but thankfully with some time, we quickly resolved them.

Proud Accomplishments (Look Mom, I made it!)

We are really happy about becoming more accustomed to how Firebase and Firestore each work to connect the backend together. On top of that, we were really happy to have actually created a working project, given all of us had very minimal experience with react.js going into it.

All about the Education am I right?

Teamwork makes the dream work! We learned how to manage our time more efficiently, trust each other and help each other. Through a lot of bug fixing, we definitely gained a lot more patience in the process of creating an application.
