Lollapaloobox is an online concert experience for fans that can't make Lollapalooza in person. Having a stage live streamed gives us the ability to watch and hear the band from afar, but still keeps us isolated from the rich, sweaty human interaction we enjoy at concerts. While it fails at the sweaty part, integrating realtime video of remote fans can bring the richness of enjoying music together online. A fan enters Lollapaloobox at the "Fairgrounds" View where she can get more information about the band playing at each stage at that time. When she picks a stage, she can choose to interact with others on screen ("Dive into the Mosh Pit") or view off-screen ("Hang Back and Watch") . She can also tell her friends about her experience via Twitter or live chat with other fans via Facebook. Lollapaloobox uses the HackLolla API for band info and schedule, the OpenTok API for webcam video streaming, and the YouTube API for video of the performances. (The videos on each stage are currently music videos of the band playing at that time, but can be replaced with live streams when the time comes). It can be used on the web (Chrome, Firefox, Safari) and can be viewed on mobile devices that support Flash.
