Inspiration

We knew that we wanted to do something with music, and we thought about problems or inconveniences that we have experienced, and came out with this project, so we won't miss out on concerts from our favorite artists.

What it does

Uses Spotify Web API to give make it straightforward and easy to use and more of a personalized experience. Users choose what device they want to listen on and pick a song from their saved playlists to play, the song played has information on the side about the artist.

How we built it

This project uses HTML, CSS, and JavaScript along with the Spotify Web API. It uses Rest API to so users can interact with the JavaScript.

Challenges we ran into

For playing music from user's Spotify account, we found that the Spotify count had to be "active" meaning music was. Dealing with how to play music from user Spotify account was the most challenging aspect.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We enjoyed making the design of our website.

What we learned

We learned how to use Spotify Web API, which probably has similar functionality to other APIs that retrieve person information from users.

What's next for Dotify

A lot of Dotify's features did not make it due to time constraints. Dotify was planned to have add on that Spotify did not show its users on a regular basis or have easy access too, making user experience seem more curated towards them.
