🚀 Inspiration In Indian cities, especially Tier 2 and Tier 3, people often rely on nearby kirana stores, sweet shops, electronics, and bakeries. However, due to traffic, heat, or time constraints, many hesitate to step out for basic needs. We wanted to create a solution that empowers local shopkeepers and brings convenience to customers by delivering goods from nearby stores in under 10 minutes.
💡 What it does LokMart is a hyperlocal delivery platform that connects customers with nearby local shops — including grocery stores, sweet shops, electronics stores, and bakeries. Users can browse and purchase items directly through our platform, and the order is fulfilled within 10 minutes using a network of local delivery partners. This eliminates the need for users to step out while boosting sales for local businesses.
🛠️ How we built it We built LokMart using:
Frontend: React.js for a responsive and fast user experience
Backend: Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Hosting)
Map & Location: Google Maps API for locating nearby stores
Design: Figma for prototyping UI/UX
Delivery Logic: A custom-built logic layer to assign delivery tasks to the nearest available agent
Notifications: Firebase Cloud Messaging for real-time order updates
