Inspiration

I am the perfect user of my own app. This an app I would have paid for immediately. I am living abroad and have struggled all my life with foreign languages especially when talking.

What it does

This app allow people to practice a foreign language (currently only English but others languages will be added). It is 100% voice based, and inspired by learning techniques that really work with measurable results.

How we built it

I built the application with bolt expo. I use chatgpt to generate illustrations. In the last days of the month I had to move on cursor to connect livekit.

Challenges we ran into

I really undervalued the time needed to build this app. It is 1h before the end of the hackathon... To be honnest I had to rush some part of the project to respect the deadline.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I really adapted the project with the feeling I had building it. So my idea wasn't so precise when starting. Now I know exactly where to go next.

What we learned

This is my first ever app. And my first ever "commercial" video. Also my first ever hackathon. Everything is new for me.

What's next for LOKA-LOKA

Finish the app. Then use it me and my friend and of course market it. I will work on it until it works.
