Logophile

Inspiration

I knew I wanted to do something with the Twilio API and apply it to a musical context. I created Logophile to help songwriters (or any writers, really) to get inspired to pick up a notebook and write about anything.

What it does

Uses the NYT Article Search API to fetch an article related to a certain topic and uses the Datamuse API to provide synonyms, antonyms, and rhymes.

How I built it

After many queries and tabs.

Challenges I ran into

I almost had to switch to Python and re-learn everything after a Spotify Java wrapper was not working, but I ended up scrapping that idea around 10.

What I learned

I learned how to use Spark with Twilio and how to use different APIs.
