Hack dev: Lofty Features Addition & Dashboard Redesign

Lofty is already a great AI first Real Estate agent CRM. To make it even better we analyzed the reviews and found gaps. We filled those by adding multiple features that were requested by users.

Inspiration

We chose Lofty (loft.com) because it's a well-established company in the real estate tech space, and their domain aligned closely with work we had already done. When we dug into their user reviews, we found consistent pain points around usability and workflow efficiency — and that gave us a clear problem to solve.

What it does

Lofty Design Change introduces 5 AI-powered features built on top of loft.com to dramatically improve the experience for real estate agents:

  1. AI Auto-Caller for Hot Leads — Automatically calls hot leads using VAPI and ElevenLabs API, sets appointments, and sends follow-up emails without agent intervention.
  2. Master AI Control Panel — A central hub to manage the personal AI assistant that powers all automations and features across the platform.
  3. Pre-Showing Location Alerts — Automatically sends leads the location of their showing/appointment 30 minutes before, along with directions and all relevant details.
  4. Optimized Agent Route Planner — Integrates Google Maps to generate the most time-efficient path for agents to hit all their showings in one go, minimizing travel time.
  5. AI-Customizable Dashboard — Agents describe their workflow in plain language and the AI automatically configures and finalizes their dashboard widgets to match how they actually work.

How we built it

We built on top of Lofty's existing platform, integrating VAPI and ElevenLabs for voice AI capabilities, Google Maps API for route optimization, and a custom AI layer that interprets agent workflows to auto-configure dashboards and trigger automations.

Challenges we ran into

  • Integrating multiple external APIs (VAPI, ElevenLabs, Google Maps) into a cohesive experience without breaking existing functionality
  • Making the AI dashboard configurator understand varied, freeform workflow descriptions reliably
  • Timing automations accurately (e.g., the 30-minute pre-showing alerts) across different time zones and calendar systems

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Built a fully functional AI auto-caller pipeline that handles lead calls, appointment setting, and email follow-ups end-to-end
  • Created a Master AI Control Panel that unifies all automations in one place
  • Delivered a genuinely useful route optimizer that saves agents real time in the field
  • The AI dashboard configurator actually works — describe your workflow and it builds your workspace

What we learned

  • Voice AI (VAPI + ElevenLabs) has matured significantly and can handle real-world sales conversations with minimal tuning
  • Real estate agents have highly repetitive workflows that are very well-suited for automation
  • Negative user reviews are one of the most underrated sources of product direction

What's next for Lofty Design Change

  • Expanding the AI caller to handle full objection handling and multi-turn conversations
  • Adding CRM sync so all automated interactions are logged automatically
  • Deeper calendar integrations for smarter scheduling
  • Pushing the dashboard AI to learn from agent behavior over time and proactively suggest widget changes
