Inspiration
Our lost water bottles!
What it does
We currently have a demo but you could imagine it gets information of an item (including a picture) from the finder and shows the picture on our site, linked under a tag (e.g electronic, cloth) to allow for easy access, and then it lets the loser of the item see where to go pick up the lost item.
How I built it
We've implemented a demo version using just html, css, and little javascript. We'd for sure need other technologies to make it as well-defined as possible.
Challenges I ran into
We all had little to no experience using these web design languages so it was really hard learning that and implementing all this in less than 24 hours!
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We were all passionate and although we couldn't finish it, we really like the idea and we'll ensure to keep working on it and hopefully whenever a Tufts Student loses an item, they won't even be bothered.
What I learned
We learnt how to use html, css, and a bit of javascript but we also learnt the importance of teamwork because everyone had (and will have) their own unique and incredibly important role in this coming together.
What's next for LoFo (Lost And Found)
We plan on working on this and getting it up online. We also plan on partnering with Tufts to ensure accessibility to only Tufts Students (so random people can't come claim items). So, we'll try to make this little idea a "real thing" for the future.
