Inspiration As students, we constantly juggle multiple deadlines, assignments, and exams. Staying focused can be challenging, and distractions are everywhere. We needed a tool that would help us "lock in" and maximize productivity, so we built our own study productivity tool.
What We Learned Throughout this project, we learned a lot about:
Time management techniques (like the Pomodoro method and task batching). User experience design, ensuring the tool is intuitive and helpful. Software development—from front-end design to back-end functionality. The importance of feedback—we refined our tool based on real student input.
Core Features: Distraction-blocking mode Customizable Pomodoro timer Task manager with priority levels Study session analytics
Development Process: We started by brainstorming essential features, created wireframes, and then moved into development. We iterated based on user testing and feedback.
Challenges We Faced Balancing Simplicity & Functionality: We wanted to add many features but needed to keep the interface simple. Time Constraints: Managing this project alongside our studies was difficult. Bug Fixing: Ensuring smooth performance across different devices took time.
Conclusion Building this tool was a rewarding experience. Not only did it help us improve our coding and problem-solving skills, but we also created something useful in the day-to-day life of students We hope it helps others stay focused and make the most of their study sessions!
