My inspiration for making this project was how many people got laid off from Covid-19. My parents tell me stories of how their co-workers are getting laid off , and I feel really bad for those people.
My project helps these people by 1) educating people for free, 2) offers free tutoring in person or virtually so that anyone can use it, and 3) helps people who got laid off find a job.
I built this project by using brackets.io and using the languages html, css, and javascript.
Some challenges I ran into is that there was a large time constraint so I wasn't able to finish the tutoring or Job section and I wasn't able to get my database to work with python, so I ended up leaving it out. Also, this is my second ever hackathon, so my project was really outgoing for someone of my level. I also tried using anime.js however it was my first time and I wasn't able to get it to work. I ended up having to make the animations myself.
I'm proud of my Javascript because I've done many projects using css and html, however I never worked with Javascript. In the end, I was able to make some really decent animations that I'm happy about.
I learned that although coding is really tough, you eventually get good at it and it starts to get fun. In the start of the Hackathon I was scrambling and wasting time, but I got my feet under me and I made a project hat I'm proud of.
Hopefully after this Hackathon, I will finish Locked On and upload it to the web, however It's still pretty far off from what I want it to be.
