Inspiration

I was inspired by the overwhelming amount of productivity tools that ask for our trust but don't actually help us manage distractions. I personally was not locked while i was building this, so I am technically the first customer of this app.

What it does

Locked is a productivity app that helps users stay focused by automatically detecting distractions and enforcing accountability. The app tracks user activity, uses voice-based motivation, and provides visual overlays to keep users engaged. When a distraction happens, it triggers a full-screen overlay and a one-line callout to refocus the user. It also tracks stats like streaks, distraction-free rate, and focus span, offering tailored session time recommendations to improve focus.

How we built it

I built Locked using a combination of advanced machine learning and real-time event detection to identify distractions as they happen. The user interface was designed with simplicity in mind, featuring session timers, customizable accountability voices, and seamless overlays. Backend systems track productivity stats and generate recommendations based on the user's patterns over time.

Challenges we ran into

LLMs hallucinating, running out of money and hitting rate limits and credits. Selecting framework cause it was between mobile, cross platform, desktop and web.
