Lockdin

Inspiration

ADHD is a huge problem among college students, and many students end up failing their classes or not getting work done. Statistically, adolescents with ADHD are on average, 2.5 years behind academically to their non-ADHD peers. Our solution is lockdin, an app encouraging its users to submit their assignments/ tasks on time and the app using Ai to ensure that the user is submitting the correct assignment.

What it does

A rundown as to what Lockdin actually does is when a user creates their account , they’ll have an option on the app to create a task with a due date and time. This information all gets stored and with an hour left, 30 min left, and 10 min left, it will constantly notify the user to submit their assignments. After the user submits an assignment, it will get read by Ai and analyzed to make sure what was submitted correlates to the task subject set up.

How we built it

Most of us had a good understanding of the frameworks used, so we stored images, accounts, and tasks into a supabase database. In terms of the front end / backend portion, we used frameworks such as node.js, next.js, typescript, and python.

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges surprisingly came from the government and their “Regulations” on SMS. Originally our idea was to incorporate everything through SMS since many people don’t use discord, however to create and run dummy accounts goes against law so we had to switch to WhatsApp, and after WhatsApp had a similar situation, we switched to discord in which we created a discord bot.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re proud that we managed to work together and come out with a full product. 75% of us were new to hackathons and didn’t know how to collaborate with each other but we managed to get it done. Also we got to use AI which was also fairly new to us and helped out a bunch in the long run.

What we learned

For starters, we as individuals learned what we are and aren’t good at, and as a team we learned what we’re capable of . In terms of technicality, we learned a lot more with how to manage and access a database, we learned a lot more frameworks and played around with them, and we got the chance to incorporate a new concept to us, that concept being Ai.

What's next for Lockdin

Lockdin sees a bright future with a growing user base. What we created this past weekend is only the beginning for what’s to come. If you think you saw it all, you haven’t seen nothing yet.
