Inspiration
So I got inspired after seeing a lot of zip codes just in general, mainly in the mail my parents got, or seeing them on trucks on the highway.
What it does
Basically, this is (Supposed) to quickly look at the designated zip code, and spit out basic info, However, *this week, I worked on 2 new features, that sadly don't work, which were meant to (1) find the distance between 2 zip codes, as well as (2) display zip codes within an area of another one. *
How we built it
I built this mainly in JS, HTML, and CSS.
Challenges we ran into
- Unable to display previous information from website after adding new code.
- Google Map Embed unable to use the lat & long from the information received by the Zipcodebase API
- My other project I was working before in this hackathon didn't really work..., and since I joined yesterday, made me have like only 4 hours to work on this.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
To be honest, I feel like I'm really proud of doing most of this myself, learning more JavaScript, and my attempts of debugging my code.
What we learned
I've learnt you cant just do hackathons within like 10 hours, and you should always do what you can to your code, whenever you can. I've also learnt new ways to implement items (Ex. Google Maps), that I can hopefully use next time.
What's next for Location Locator (Pt. 2)
Fix everything.... nothing much else to say.
