Inspiration

We were inspired to create LocalReach because we've seen our fair share of local businesses shut down, even businesses that we had personal connections to.

What it does

LocalReach provides users with a survey, statistics based on the survey, resources straight from the SBA, and a free-to-use forum for users to interact with each other, creating a web of support.

How we built it

We built LocalReach together, with Anna Sanchez doing the workbook brainstorming, Anna Moore creating the design and layout for the user interface, and Analeigh Nwokolo programming the app using Python and Kvlang.

Challenges we ran into

Team Catchers ran into a lot of challenges concerning when to meet up and develop the app together, but we ultimately decided to use digital communication to keep up with one another. We also struggled with deciding what to base our app on at first, but used process of elimination to figure out what idea to pursue.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're very proud of how we were able to tie all of our ideas into the app and video, and most of all, how we met the deadline. We're also proud of how we were able to problem solve by using critical thinking.

What we learned

We learned to not worry about perfection, and we also learned how to divide roles efficiently for quicker development. Also, always start early. You never know when things will go wrong; because there's always bound to be mistakes.

What's next for LocalReach

We're thinking of continuing development, and perhaps reaching out to a couple of businesses to see if they'll try out our app and spread the word.
