Inspiration
I always thought chance of meeting persons like ourselves is rare.Meeting person like us means they same have same field of interest and being crazy to do something.so i started this project to connect that type of persons

How we built it
LocaConnect was built as a full-stack web application using: -Python – Backend programming -Django – Web framework and application logic -HTML & CSS – Frontend and user interface -Postgre – Database during development -Django Authentication – User registration, login, and logout -Django ORM – Managing users, profiles, skills, and database operations -Git & GitHub – Version control and project management
Challenges we ran into
-Designing the database relationships between users and profiles. -Implementing location and skill-based searching. -Making sure users could only edit or delete their own profiles. -Handling login-protected pages. -Debugging Django URL, view, model, and migration errors. -Deploying the application and making it accessible online. -Keeping the interface simple and easy to use.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
-Built a functional user authentication system. -Created user profiles and profile management. -Implemented searching based on location and skills. -Added user profile viewing. -Implemented owner-based edit and delete permissions. -Connected the frontend with a Django backend and database. -Deployed the application so it can be accessed online. -Learned how to build and debug a complete web application from the ground up.

What's next for Localconnect
-Better location-based discovery using maps and distance. -More advanced skill and interest matching. -Recommendations for people with similar interests. -User connection/follow system. -Notifications for new connections and messages. -Improved profile customization. -Better security and privacy controls. -A more polished and responsive mobile-friendly interface. -Eventually, an AI-powered matching system that can recommend people based on their interests, skills, learning goals, and activities.
