Inspiration

Most Indian towns are traditionally very self sufficient. They have their own grocery stores, their own clothing stores from where the entire town meets their needs. But today large companies such as amazon, flipkart even Groffers etc, due to their high bargaining power, they are putting these small businesses out of business and the rich get richer. Our team wanted to do something about this and therefore we built LocalVocal, that basically makes the locals vocal.

What it does

Basically we get all the local businessmen into our app and then for example, a user comes onto the app and wants to order something, the user goes onto the app and searches for what he wants, once he does that, the closest shop is first pointed out and then shops are listed out in descending order of their distance from the user's place. This helps all local vendors an equal chance at the competition. The user can then choose the shop and get his required product delivered. This helps the small businesses to survive and not run over by the large multi millionaire firms. Local Vocal is a platform built for small towns that provides small shopkeepers the ability to reach out to customers over a wide area and sell their wares to the largest audience possible. By extending the reach of these shopkeepers, we aim to provide the average consumer to buy the highest quality products at the best prices with the shortest delivery times.

How we built it

Challenges we ran into

The challenges were to make such a complex app within a limited time period but glad for a lot of friends working day and night we did it. Also for the business level is that how will it compete with Zepto, India mart but we are focusing on pastries rather than cakes.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are really glad that we brought a product into this world that is actually helpful to people especially to the poor and people who are in actual need of this product and that this product can make someone's life better ! We are also proud that we have completely built our app and got it tested we have also surveyed in the market. People are really excited to use it.

What we learned

A lot of things actually, We learnt a lot in this project not just technical stuff, we learnt so many thing like working in a team etc. With this, we have learned a lot of technical as well as business stuff. How can a single ideology make changes in social life?
