Inspiration

I wanted to create a better way to find and sell items around you. Craigslist is good, but often times you find an item you want, but it is too far away. Facebook groups are useful, but you have to be in the group. Also, you have your name associated with what you sell... which is not always desired.

What it does

You can view items for sale near you and choose a searching radius that you want to see results from. You can search for items in this radius. Of course, you can sell items as well by uploading an item. You can view the items that you have sold and that are still for sale as well.

How I built it

I programmed app behavior in swift. I wrote PHP scripts to handle backend/data retrieval.

Challenges I ran into

This was my first iOS app, so I was new to basically everything. I learned how to do everything on my own. Also, I was new to MySQL and PHP so that was a challenge to get the hang of that.

Making it onto the app store I suppose

How to design and implement a complex project completely on my own.

What's next for Local Sales

I would like to add some new features when I have time, but right now am busy with other projects!
