Inspiration

This project came out of nights of frustration about what to work on. The idea of brands and social media was one direction we were exploring, but the real spark happened during a meeting with a local food business owner. Seeing how content could be created easily and effectively gave us the push to build something that helps generate content with minimal effort.

What it does

Our platform lets users give minimal descriptions of their products—and optionally, images. From that, we generate visuals that match their style while keeping the product authentic, and provide captions that really capture the audience’s attention. In short, it turns a few inputs into polished, shareable content.

How we built it

We built the prototype using Lovable, focusing on ideation and evaluating both business and technical feasibility. n8n automates the workflow, and various OpenAI APIs handle image generation/editing and content creation. Everything comes together to make the process seamless for the user.

Challenges we ran into

The toughest part was scoping the problem down to the smallest unit we could solve. We also had to figure out which demographic would actually use this product and benefit the most. Talking to people in marketing and real consumers gave us a lot of clarity and helped shape the final idea.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Industry-approved ideation and thought process.
• An easy and intuitive prototype that any business can use.
• Models that adapt based on customer needs.
• A true team effort—this isn’t just a project, it’s a product for us.

What we learned

We learned what it really takes to create a business and build apps using different AI APIs. Most of our time went into analyzing which models are best for generation, cost-effectiveness, and clearly classifying user needs.

What's next for Local Mosaic

We plan to build a full pipeline that allows one-click posting and expand support for real-time translation, so non-native business owners can fully use it too.
