Inspiration

Large Businesses offer Gift Cards at a discount to promote their products, but what about small businesses? Square Gift Cards are the perfect tool to enables local businesses to compete and drive sales, all they need is a way to make it convenient to their customers.

What it does

We enable local businesses to offer additional discounts on their Square Gift Cards and promote them in social media and online. Customers scan the QR code and install the Local Gift Card App, buy the Gift Card and store it in their mobile phone. The App uses Square Checkout and businesses can enable different payment methods including Cash App, Google Pay, and credit cards. Customers can also use the app to check balances, reload, and share the gift cards with family and friends.

How we built it

Native Android app, interfacing with a back end server implemented with MAKE.com and a database in Tadabase.io. The store owner will use a manager application to grants Square permissions and to set the discount, check card balance and redeem payments with the gift cards. Quick checkout payments are deposited in the Merchant's Square account.
