Inspiration
In our neighborhoods, it's easy to miss important updates like lost pets or local events. I wanted to build a digital space where people can stay informed and connected—something simple, clean, and useful for everyone.
What it does
It’s a modern community bulletin board where residents can:
- Share posts (events, alerts, lost pets, etc.)
- Filter by category (like Safety or Power Issues)
- Highlight urgent updates
- View contact info and dates with each post
How we built it
The project was built using:
- React + TypeScript for the frontend
- Tailwind CSS for styling
- Vite as the build tool
- Deployed using Netlify
- Developed on StackBlitz, powered by Bolt AI
Challenges we ran into
Some of the challenges included:
- Getting filtering and search to work smoothly
- Making the layout mobile-friendly
- Managing dependencies when moving from StackBlitz to GitHub/Netlify
Accomplishments we’re proud of
- Fully working prototype with clean UI
- Mobile-friendly and fast performance
- Easy to deploy and update via GitHub + Netlify
What we learned
- Better use of React hooks and TypeScript
- Configuring modern tools like Vite and Tailwind
- How to ship a polished app quickly using online tools
What’s next
- Add a backend to save posts
- Allow users to log in and manage their posts
- Add real-time updates and notifications
