Inspiration

Browsers taking too long, hanging or even crashing running local AI.

What it does

Accesses a database with hardware configurations and local AI performance indicators. Tests local AI and uploads benchmarks to the database.

How we built it

Using HTML, JS on the front end and Java on GCP Compute Engine accessing BigQuery database and Cloud Storage for database snapshots.

Challenges we ran into

Comparing Chrome built-in AI to other local AI technologies and to cloud AI namely with Gemini Developer API.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Making it universal and very cost effective and the service already being used by another application.

What we learned

It became clear the many advantages that built-in Chrome AI has to other local AI technologies.

What's next for Local AI Hardware compatibility tester.

Implement more use cases and grow the user data for more devices only possible with increased community involvement.
