Inspiration
We were inspired by the personal frustration of managing multiple loans across different platforms—each with its own login, dashboard, and payment schedule. The lack of a single, clear, and calming overview led us to design Loan Flow: a unified, user-centric hub for loan management.
What it does
Loan Flow is a UI/UX concept for a loan management dashboard. Our high-fidelity Figma prototype visualizes a single platform where users can track all loan balances, monitor payment schedules, visualize payoff progress, and receive proactive reminders—all designed to reduce financial stress through clarity and control.
How we built it
We began with user research and problem definition, then moved to low-fidelity wireframes to establish the core user flow. The entire experience was designed and prototyped in Figma, evolving into a complete, interactive high-fidelity prototype. We focused on visual hierarchy, intuitive data visualization, and a calming, trustworthy interface.
Challenges we ran into
The main design challenge was presenting complex financial data (amortization, interest rates, timelines) in a simple, scannable, and non-intimidating way. Balancing information density with a clean aesthetic required multiple iterations. We also carefully designed the onboarding flow to make connecting loans feel secure and straightforward.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We created a cohesive and compelling visual identity that feels both professional and approachable. The interactive prototype successfully demonstrates a seamless end-to-end user journey—from onboarding to tracking progress. We're particularly proud of our custom data visualization components that make loan payoff timelines instantly understandable.
What we learned
We deepened our understanding of financial UX principles, learning how trust, transparency, and simplicity are paramount. The process reinforced how vital user flows and micro-interactions are for making a conceptual product feel tangible and valuable, even at the prototype stage.
What's next for Loan Flow
The next step is to conduct usability testing with our high-fidelity prototype to validate our design decisions and gather feedback. Following that, we would iterate on the design and begin handoff for development, starting with core features like the dashboard and loan aggregation flow.
