A NOTE FROM FOUNDER & CEO LOWELL WINER

In 2006 I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease, a type of blood cancer. I was in continuous treatment for 4 years -- chemotherapy, two stem cell transplants, radiation, and multiple novel drug clinical trials. As each successive treatment failed, I committed to continual small steps healthy change -- better nutrition, getting enough sleep, meditation, yoga, minimizing alcohol, and maybe most importantly, investing more energy in my relationships with friends and family. Then in 2010, I beat the odds and achieved my first remission!! Slowly I'm recovering from such heavy treatment, and I've learned to live with uncertainty about whether the cancer will return. But I'm not sure I would change anything -- cancer has been my guru. It has sharpened my focus on what is most important to me and steered towards my purpose -- Livifi.
