Inspiration

Modern sports enthusiasts and data analysts demand immediate, highly accurate match information without unnecessary noise or delays. Most existing scoreboards are either slow to update or cluttered with intrusive ads. We wanted to build a clean, reliable, and blazing-fast platform where fans can follow real-time game dynamics, head-to-head statistics, and deep analytics in one intuitive place.

What it does

LiveStatsHub aggregates and processes live sports data to provide users with:

  • Instant Live Scores: Low-latency match tracking and status updates.
  • Deep Statistical Insights: Detailed match metrics, team momentum, and head-to-head breakdowns.
  • Responsive & Clean UI: A modern, accessible interface optimized for both desktop and mobile sports tracking.

How we built it

  • Frontend: Built with Next.js and TypeScript, leveraging modern server components for optimal speed and SEO performance.
  • Backend & Database: Designed robust data ingestion pipelines backed by PostgreSQL and Prisma ORM to efficiently process and query high-frequency match events.
  • Deployment & Architecture: Containerized using Docker to ensure reliable continuous delivery and scalable performance during high-traffic match windows.

Challenges we faced

Handling real-time data streams and low-latency updates while maintaining high availability and snappy response times was a key engineering challenge. Structuring our relational database schemas to quickly serve live match events without bottlenecking required careful caching and query optimization.

What's next for LiveStatsHub

We plan to expand our live coverage to include additional sports leagues, integrate predictive match insights, and introduce personalized match alerts and push notifications for users.
