Inspiration

Our aim behind this is to encourage users to develop sustainable habits. Our ultimate goal is to make people add up their energy savings, save money on water bills, create less construction waste, breathe better air and produce more durable green homes. We were inspired by the fast growing social media platform Instagram which connects the entire world through photos and sharing of memories. With the technology growing so rapidly, we decided to bring an app and website into play which people can feel comfortable with and have a fun time playing around with while maintaining their goals to stay eco-friendly.

What it does

Our project has two main elements, the app and the website. The main element , the app is a platform where users of the app can connect with their friends and other eco friendly people by uploading pictures, following daily/weekly/monthly challenges and reading articles/tips.

How we built it

We used sketch to create the prototype of the app and envision to display the features and detailed run down. To create the website, we also used HTML and CSS softwares on Atom.

Challenges we ran into

Our group was a small group of only three people. Two high school students and one university computer science students. Starting off, none of us had experience with front end coding, however through this learning experience ,we all are familiar and educated about front end coding.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of our graphic designs and layout of the app along with our details that we used to make the app become more appealing to the users.

What we learned

We all learned something different and something new. Some of us learned front end coding, some of us learned HTML and CSS, and some of us got to play around with sketch and envision soft wares.

What's next for LiveGREEN

Once our app gets popular enough, we can get different companies to sponsor us as well as celebrities to connect with the media by promoting our app, as well getting other banks involved in living green and not just TD.
