Both of us are passionate for building tools that can help out in the world, with common everyday problems. Our project attempts to tackle the language barrier by giving out a live translator that can make global conversations easier than ever.
What it does
The program takes in your voice input, converts it to text, translates that text into the language you chose, then speaks it right back out.
How we built it
We used Python and HTML, alongside tools such as Flask
Challenges we ran into
A bunch lol, we mainly had issues with figuring out how to get the program to stop when intended, such as say exit to leave, or the automatic stop.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The program now works as intended for a multitude of languages, and a decent looking design too!
What we learned
Through this project we learned how to navigate a lot of Python and some tools to use in there, as well as a lot of front end through html.
What's next for Live Translator
We plan to add features such as more languages, better UI design, different voices that speak back, etc. As well as a mobile application.
