Inspiration

We wanted to have a way to incorporate the Google Cloud Translate API into something practical.

What it does

So, let's say you go to the doctor, but you speak a different language. There is a button that you can toggle - one for you, and one for the doctor. You speak into the app, and, theoretically, it will translate your text. The doctor would then toggle the switch so that they can speak into it, and translate it back to you.

Challenges we ran into

React Native
No one knowing how to use React Native :(
Having to scratch our project because it used Expo instead of React Native Create
Only one of us could test the features
The google translate API is only really good with node.js meaning we would've had to have built a back-end too, which we didn't realize until the end :(
