Inspiration

Voter turnout at local elections is strikingly low compared to all other elections. Voter turnout was 66.8 percent in the 2020 presidential election, 50.3 percent in the 2018 midterm elections, less than 15 percent for municipal elections, and 5–10 percent for local school board elections. However, Important decisions are made at the local level — core services like police and fire departments, transportation, housing, libraries, drinking water, public schools, and elections.

What it does

Motivates people who usually vote in the presidential election and care somewhat about elections to show up for local elections! We want people to take just 5-10 minutes out of their day to quickly inform themselves about the impact of their vote in a local election and motivate them to show up!

Core Features

  1. Enter your address and see information about the upcoming election
  2. Explanation of each position (how it might impact your life)
  3. Candidate Comparison (Future vision & plans, Past experiences & actions)
