Inspiration

After being frustrated too many times driving around trying to find parking space in large parking lots, I decided there had to be a better way of finding parking.

What it does

Using hall-effect sensors, it detects the presence of cars in the parking spaces, and sends that data to the internet to be viewed by drivers seeking a spot.

How we built it

We connected multiple breadboards together and wired hall-effect sensors on each board. These sensors are being read by a electron Particle IOT micro controller.

Challenges we ran into

Borderline impossible to setup electron particle board. Lack of basic components any real college should have

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Successfully setup the Electron Particle.

What we learned

We learned more about how IOT technology works, and how simple hardware can be interfaced with it.

What's next for Live Internet-of-Things Parking Map

Actual sensors made into a matrix formation to capture a large amount of parking space data. Using parallel to Serial conversion to reduce pins and improve efficiency
