Live Bingo Meets Stream Together: Our Journey
We discovered the Twitch Streamer Tools Hackathon during our visit to TwitchCon in San Diego. Inspired by the opportunity, we decided to integrate one of our previous extensions with the goal of allowing multiple streamers to start a Stream Together session with their streamer friends and host a collective Live Bingo game, where viewers from each channel could participate in a single, unified game. The idea of building this collaborative experience within the hackathon's tight deadlines was both exciting and challenging.
The real test was synchronizing Live Configs for each streamer, Overlays, Mobile View for spectators across all communities, and even browser sources. Ensuring that all elements stayed seamlessly connected and updated in real-time was a complex puzzle we were determined to solve.
Throughout the process, we learned how to make the most of the Guest Star API and discovered the intricacies of Twitch's Stream Together system. It was a great experience that pushed us to deepen our understanding and explore new tools to make better extensions each day.
